Super awesome September SLANTBox

This month I decided to participate in the SLANTbox exchange.  Not sure what it is?  Head on over to Lessons With Coffee's blog to learn more about it!  But for a quick overview: SLANT stands for Sending Love Across the Nation to Teachers.  You're paired up with a teacher to send a care package based around a theme to.  This month's theme was "TEACHER VOICE: ON!"  It was great for starting up the new school year.
My super awesome package came from Lindsey over at It's Elementary, My Dear.  She sent me a little survey when we were first matched up and I must say my care package was spot on for me!
In addition to some teacher must have office supplies (post its, pens, pencils, tape all in the same cute pattern), I also got a travel mug and these great loose leaf teas.  The honey fig one is delicious!
To help keep me teacher voice always on my package included cough drops, Chapstick, some vitamin c, and eaten right away chocolate all in this super cute  mason jar like bottle.
But my favorite part of all - these vintage pinup Christmas cards!  I haven't decided if I'll actually put them to use or frame them and display them.

If you get the chance I would absolutely recommend participating in these exchange.  Who doesn't love mail and care packages?!?

Five Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!  Here are some of the things that we are just loving in my house right now.  Tripp is making big moves, crawling all over the place and furniture walking so these shoes have been amazing.  At first he wasn't really sure how to keep moving without sliding all over but he's loving them and I'm loving the elastic shoelaces.  Tripp isn't really a fan of wearing shoes in the first place so the velcro ones are too easy for him to get off himself.  We're also really digging the flannel shirts for our baby boy.  This one  from Old Navy is the perfect fall color and a great price!  And of course Tripp is loving his yobaby yogurt!  I don't know why I waited so long to let him try these out.  They're great for snacks or in addition to what we're eating for meals.  I also had to throw in my super awesome boots from Aerosoles.  I bought these bad boys about 3 years ago and they are still going strong.  You know it's a grew product when you can still purchase it years later!  And lastly, Chobani Flips have been a lifesaver for me this past week.  It was a rough one with my uncle passing away and Tripp has been having trouble sleeping through the night so I am a zombie in the morning.  Grabbing one of these is an easy decision while I'm half asleep getting ready for work.  They're certainly filling and delicious!

Stitch Fix Review #3 - October Box

I was extra excited for my October box because my friend and coworker, Wendy, was receiving her first box on the same day.  We both eagerly hit refresh on the tracking status and rushed home to see what we got. So here we go...
41Hawthorn - Kasey Stripe Hem Fit & Flare Dress - $68
I knew as soon as I pulled out the style card that I would love this dress and how cute is it with the boots?! It's a sleeveless fit and flare dress which is perfect for me for work because you never know what the temperature will be in my classroom.  It's the perfect length and the material is lightweight.  The skirt is lined so you don't have to worry about anything showing through.  I'm keeping it!

Fun2Fun - Chandra Plaid Sleeveless Blouse - $44
I had pinned a plaid blouse to my pinterest board because I thought it would be perfect for fall and was so happy to see this in my box.  It's sleeveless and sheer so I have to where a tank top underneath (but that's fine by me).  It is the absolute perfect shirt for fall and I love that I can pair it with a pencil skirt and boots or jeans and flats.  Another keeper!

Papermoon  - Kasidy Geo Print Swing Skirt - $58
So I am pretty iffy on this skirt.  It's lightweight but lined and certainly long enough for school but I feel a bit frumpy in it.  I'm not impressed so I think it's going back.

Renee C - Alondra Ruched Pencil Skirt - $58
I wanted to like this skirt.  The color is a beautiful burgundy, but I feel like a sausage in it.  The skirt is made of a jersey material so it has a great amount of stretch to it but the ruching does nothing for my curves and even with spanx on...still looks awkward.  Sending it back :(

Market and Spruce - Tabitha Embellished Cotton Shirt - $58
Lastly, I pulled out this blouse.  It's kind of a mauve color which is a bit boring to me.  It's cotton and has a beaded embellishment on the neckline.  Overall...I'm not too impressed with it and for $58 it's just not work keeping.  Plus looking at these pictures makes me realize it really is not flattering at all....so this one also will be sent back.

Baby Boy Fall Style Favorites

I have a problem...I am addicted to shopping.  I mean, my husband should be somewhat happy that I don't have very expensive taste, but it's still pretty bad.  When Bob and I first joined our bank accounts we decided to give each other an allowance every month.  This money can be used for anything without the other person criticizing/nitpicking/etc.  Bob's vice is beer (duh!) so I'd venture a guess that that's where most of his money goes to...mine, on the other hand, is shopping (and Starbucks).  Today Tripp and I headed out to Bergen Towne Plaza.  My sister and I like to refer to it as the "mommy mall" because it is full of moms pushing strollers because it is loaded with all of the great kids' stores [The Children's Place, Carter's, Stride Rite, Gymboree, The Disney Store] in addition to my favorites [Gap, JCrew, Old Navy, H&M, Target, NY&Co, Banana Republic].  Today I dropped so $$ at H&M but all for the little nugget.  I bought some pretty cute stuff for cheap so here we go with some of my faves!

How adorable are these?! And so incredibly affordable...AND! you can now purchase from H&M online.  Dangerous!
